Who is Juanfran Pérez Llorca, president of the Valencian Generalitat?

Juanfran Pérez Llorca was born in Finestrat, in Alicante province, in 1976. His family ran a hospitality and catering business in the Marina Baixa area. Press accounts disagree on the exact town: Villajoyosa according to Interdiario (11 November 2025), or Santa Pola according to El Español (12 November 2025). He has two sisters, Patricia and Magdalena, named by Vozpópuli and El Español on 12 November 2025.

On a personal note, Pérez Llorca cites his great-grandmother, a street vendor who emigrated to France, as an influence, remarks made on Onda Cero and picked up by Vozpópuli. El Español reported on 12 November 2025 that he boarded at the Colegio La Concepción in Ontinyent from the age of 17, where he is said to have been a schoolmate of Juan Roig.

He studied law at the University of Alicante. This degree has been disputed by Okdiario, currently the only outlet questioning his university record; in the absence of corroborating sources, the claim should be treated as unconfirmed.

His political career took shape in Finestrat, where he has been mayor since 2015. He is also secretary general of the PPCV. He became president of the Valencian Generalitat on 29 November 2025.

On a lighter note, his interests include hiking and cycling around Puig Campana. He describes himself as a fan of Elche CF, with the line "Yo soy del Elche" ("I'm an Elche supporter"), said on EsRadio and reported by PR Noticias on 10 March 2026.
