What Is Sant Jordi's Salida Nocturna Panorámica, the 19 September Night Ride?
On Saturday 19 September 2026, from 5.30pm, the Panorámica development in Sant Jordi (Maestrat, Castellón province) is holding its first Salida Nocturna Panorámica: a group motorcycle ride looping through nearby villages, followed by a barbecue, drinks, a live rock set and a DJ back at base. You don't need a motorcycle to show up, the evening is open to everyone, kids included. Mauricio Peralta, a Panorámica resident who's organising the ride, talked us through the plan; Sant Jordi town hall is co-organising.

When and where does it start?
Riders meet at Panorámica at 5.30pm, with the motorcycles rolling out at 6pm. Calling it a "night ride" while it kicks off in broad daylight is intentional: Mauricio Peralta built the timing around a tardeo, the Spanish habit of starting a night out in the late afternoon, so the group rides while there's still light and families can stay for the whole evening.
What is the route?
It's a loop:out of Panorámica, through,,and, then back to the start. Peralta is clear on the spirit of it: this is a social ride, not a race, and every level of rider is welcome.
| Stop | Place |
|---|---|
| 1 | Panorámica (start) |
| 2 | Sant Jordi |
| 3 | Cervera del Maestre |
| 4 | Sant Mateu |

| 6 | Panorámica (finish) |
What happens back in Sant Jordi?
Everyone regroups atin Sant Jordi for the rest of the night: a barbecue, drinks, a live rock band, then a DJ set. In case you haven't been: it's a sports complex built around an 18-hole pitch and putt course, with six padel courts, four tennis courts and a 7-a-side football pitch.
Do you need a motorcycle to take part?
No. The ride itself is for riders, but the evening is open to everyone: partners, friends, children. If you don't ride, just turn up for dinner, the band and the DJ. And if you're coming from further afield, accommodation can be arranged on request, directly with Mauricio Peralta (his number is in the table below).
How much does it cost, and how do you book?
€22 per person, dinner and drinks included. Booking goes through Bizum, the instant mobile-payment app most Spanish banks use, sent to one of two numbers with your first and last name and the reference "Motera Nocturna" (that's the label to use, even though it isn't the ride's official name).

Why does the Maestrat keep gaining residents?
Behind the ride is a village that's changing fast. According to Spain's national statistics institute, the INE, Sant Jordi has posted the steepest population growth of any town in the Valencian Community over the past five years: up 46.13%, from 1,073 residents in 2021 to 1,568 in 2025. Over the same period, registered businesses grew 12.36% (100 in 2025) and Social Security affiliations rose 11.75% (409 in March 2026).
Most of that growth is happening in Panorámica itself: it accounts for 80% of the 365 new residents registered in 2025. The development has around 1,820 homes, roughly 900 permanent residents year-round, and swells to as many as 3,500 people in summer.
Who's moving in? Peralta describes a mixed picture: foreign retirees from 48 nationalities (Germans, Belgians, Dutch, British and French among them), families leaving big cities, and Spaniards from the Basque Country, Catalonia, Aragón and Madrid who keep a second home there for the golf. What he sees underway, mostly, is a shift toward genuine year-round residents: families, remote workers, people splitting their time between two countries. Peralta is himself a Panorámica-based estate agent and also runs ReHabita Maestrat, a project that helps people buy and renovate homes across Maestrat villages; it's one of the evening's partners. If golf is part of what's drawing new residents to the area, our guide to golf courses around Valencia covers the wider region's courses and green fees.

Worth staying longer? Three ideas for the weekend
If you've booked accommodation, or you're driving up from Valencia for the occasion, here are three reasons not to head straight home, from the heart of the Maestrat to the coast. For more ideas further afield, our guide to day trips from Valencia covers eight other routes out of the city.
