Today's essentials
DANA towns: claim up to €50 back on bar bills from 15 October. If you live in a municipality hit by the DANA floods, you can apply from 15 October 2026 to get back half of what you spend in participating bars, cafés and restaurants, up to €50 per person, under the Generalitat's Bono Hostelería 2026, Valencia Extra reports.
The scheme is meant to bring customers back to hospitality businesses in the flood-affected areas. To get the full €50 you need at least €100 of eligible spending, and every receipt must be for €20 or more, but you can combine several receipts, Valencia Plaza explains. The programme has a total budget of €3.9 million under the Generalitat's Plan Endavant, and the regional government expects it to reach more than 78,000 people. The Federación de Hostelería de la Comunitat Valenciana (FEHV) had asked the Consell for the measure.
To qualify you must be an adult living in one of the covered municipalities. According to Valencia Plaza, these include the urban core of Loriguilla near the A-3 motorway and the pedanías (outlying districts) south of Valencia city. Sedaví town hall has confirmed it is part of the scheme. Sources disagree on how many places are covered: Valencia Extra lists 93 localities, while Valencia Plaza and other outlets put the figure at 103. The official list at recuperemhosteleriaturismecv.gva.es/municipios/ is the one to check.
The order of steps matters. First register online at recuperemhosteleriaturismecv.gva.es, which also lists participating venues. Then pay with a bank card in your own name and upload your receipts afterwards. Spending made before you register does not count. Turisme Comunitat Valenciana pays the refund roughly 30 days after your receipts are approved. Bars and restaurants have until 31 October 2026 to join, so the list of venues may grow over the coming weeks.
Key dates: applications open at 9:00 on 15 October 2026 and close on 30 November 2026. You must have spent the money by 13 December 2026, and receipts must be uploaded by 15 December 2026, according to Valencia Extra.
What this means for you: if you live in Sedaví, Loriguilla or another listed town, check the official list now, and set a reminder for 9:00 on Thursday 15 October to register before you eat out. Two or three €50 dinners paid by card, with receipts kept, will be enough for the full €50 refund in time for Christmas.
Weather today
Overcast and mild, with storms possible in the south. Open-Meteo forecasts a grey Monday 5 October 2026 for Valencia city, with temperatures from 19 to 26 degrees, a 20% chance of rain and winds up to 11 km/h.
Inland around Chelva, the day starts cooler at 15 degrees and reaches 25, with fog and a 23% chance of rain; drive carefully on mountain roads early in the day. On the southern coast, Oliva stays between 21 and 25 degrees but thunderstorms are possible (20% chance of rain), so take a light waterproof layer if you are going to the beach.
