Fire near the Oceanogràfic shuts the V-15 in both directions in Valencia. A vegetation fire broke out at Camí Nou del Salinar, in the La Punta district of Valencia city, sending up a large column of smoke visible from across town and forcing the closure of the V-15 (the Saler motorway and tunnel) in both directions, at the entrance and exit of the city, according to Levante-EMV and Las Provincias.

The fire is burning right next to the Oceanogràfic and the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. Besides the road closure, Metrovalència's tram line 10 was halted between the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències-Justícia and Natzaret stops, according to A Punt.

Around 7:09pm on Sunday, Las Provincias reported that Valencia firefighters had declared the blaze contained, with no injuries or residential evacuations reported at that hour.

This comes on top of the larger wildfire that has been burning since Saturday in Vall d'Uixó, Castellón province. Evacuation orders remain in force there for the sixteen towns and hamlets affected, including Aín, Alcudia de Veo, Eslida, Artana, Sueras, Chóvar and Ayódar, according to Libertad Digital, with the fire's perimeter estimated at about 21 kilometres inside the Sierra de Espadán natural park, per BurgosConecta. An extreme (red) weather warning was in force for the whole Valencia region on Sunday, and no deaths have been confirmed in connection with either fire.
